I used to wonder why guys always appeared to have more succesful (and lasting) friendships than females but after countless experiences of "friends" backing out on plans for some random dude, I've finally seen the light. While men adhere to the code of BBH (Bros Before Hoes) too many females are quick to jump on the DOB (Dick Over B*tches) bandwagon. Do you see dudes cancelling plans or putting their boys on the backburner for some chick? NEVER! They will schedule their time with a girl around their pre-existing plans with the boys and not even think twice about it. On the other hand females will carry plans with their friends because they're waiting on some dude to call. You have got to be kidding me.
See.. this is what's wrong with a lot of females these days. The people that truly know me know I don't play that. If you make plans, stick to them. If you can't make it, tell me. Don't bs me and especially not for some dude and then tell me it's because of some dude because I will never look at you the same. EVER.
If you can't tell, I was a victim of DOB this weekend and I was irritated by it to say the least. Needless to say I went ahead and did my own thing, but the point is that I subscribe to the mentality of BBH so when I learn that you're a faithful follower of DOB I'll forgive you and love you no less but don't be surprised when I am reluctant to make plans with you again.

So true....but I think women get more emotional over this topic than men. We're so dumb at times that we don't realize we're missing out on getting to know something NEW. While your boys are ALWAYS going to be there doing the SAME ol thang.

Well, guys will cancel on their boys for women too. However, we generally do it with the permission of our friends. And getting permission generally isn't hard either. Nonetheless, lame ass copouts aren't hot. Guys don't really get mad if ONE dude cancels and the rest of us can still roll out. But if it's just the two dudes rollin, then a real friend might mention that the chic hit him up about hooking up just to see if his man will tell him that he needs to go out with her if he can. If his man doesn't make the suggestion, he'll roll with his man and catch her later. It's really not that serious. Therefore, it's easier for guys to be upfront from the beginning (i.e. 'Yeah I'm down to hit Park tonight...unless shawty hits me back.'). In fact, if the chic is hot enough his boy will command that he go out with her immediately! Dudes don't trip as much because the point in going out generally is to meet women. So if your man has one that he's working on, then good for him...just don't bs about it.
In general, guys want their folks to hook up with the new chic and will support most efforts to do so...with hopes of hearing about a successful ending. But if it's his old lady, dude will get cut off if he backs out because that's a sign that he has no balls and she's running him. We understand the need to establish yourself with the new one...even if we do rag on dude about it.
Most importantly, guys don't make plans that are that serious with their boys too often. Most times, it's same day, last minute, or just an idea in case nothing better pops up...and women = better! When we do actually make serious plans, we stick to it. That's just how we do! We know that a real woman will respect that. Hmmmm...Maybe some women are afraid if they don't go out with dude right then and there he'll go out with someone else. If dude knows you cancelled on your girl, then he knows you're pressed. That is NOT a good look!
